President and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Capital Company LLC
Gerard A. Halpin, III joined Siemens Capital Company LLC (Iselin, NJ) on October 1, 2007 as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to assuming his new position at Siemens Capital, Gerry was the Vice President and Treasurer of Siemens Corporation (New York, NY) since January 2001. In these roles, he is responsible for implementing treasury strategy for all Siemens companies in the Americas. In addition, he is responsible for cash management, bank relations, debt issuance, risk management – foreign exchange and interest rates – (including proprietary trading), pension/savings plan investments and the capital structure. He also serves as the liaison between the Central Finance teams at Siemens AG, Siemens Financial Services, and the Siemens’ U.S. Operating Companies.
Prior to Siemens, Gerry was Vice President and Treasurer at Stone & Webster, Inc., where he had responsibility for all debt, equity and capital structure transactions. He has also held treasury positions at PepsiCo, Inc., Macmillan, Inc. and General Electric Company. He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co., where he was an external auditor.
Gerry graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Darden Graduate Business School at the University of Virginia.
Chief Executive Officer, Project & Structured Finance - Energy
President and CEO, Siemens Financial Services, Inc.
Kirk Edelman is the chief executive officer of Siemens Financial Services’ (SFS) Project and Structured Finance - Energy business, where he leads Siemens’ energy investing activities worldwide. In this role, he manages the activities of a global team that provides financial solutions throughout the capital structure - from debt to equity – in support of the energy industry. Kirk also has regional responsibility and is president and CEO of Siemens Financial Services, Inc., the legal booking entity that coordinates Siemens Financial Services’ activities in the U.S.
Kirk joined SFS in 2007 as senior vice president and general manager. He oversaw the group’s rapid growth, establishing Siemens’ energy, infrastructure and natural resources finance business in North America. During his tenure in this role, Kirk participated in several key transactions including Cannon Power’s Windy Flats II expansion and ArcLight Capital Partners’ Hobbs Power Funding projects.
Kirk has more than 20 years of experience focusing on energy, natural resources and infrastructure finance. Prior to joining Siemens, he was senior vice president and managing director at GMAC, tasked with managing the company’s Project Finance Group. Previous to that, he was the chief financial officer of Translink Transmission Company – an electric utility; a managing director in TD Securities’ Energy Group; a first vice president & manager in Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstien’s Energy and Utilities Department; and the department manager for Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi’s New York Project Finance Department. In addition, he has held finance positions with Catalyst Energy Corporation, Ocwen Financial Corporation, and Westvaco Corporation. Kirk was an engineer with Exxon Corporation prior to attending graduate school and applies this hands-on knowledge to his daily work in financial services.
During his career, Kirk has led numerous transactions for energy clients including El Paso, Reliant Energy, Intergen, Entergy, Phelps Dodge and Texaco. These transactions have included debt and equity capital raising, M&A advisory, privatizations, and restructurings. He has participated as a panelist for The Energy Collective’s webinar titled “How to Save a Planet - On a Budget,” was published in the Environmental Leader, and interviewed by the project finance trade publication Power Finance & Risk. Kirk received a B.S. degree with distinction in civil engineering from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Head of Region Americas, Siemens Real Estate
Michael Kruklinski is Head of Siemens Real Estate, Region Americas, overseeing all operations for Siemens Real Estate within the Americas.
With over 20 years experience at Siemens, Kruklinski has held a number of senior positions within the company. Most recently, he served as Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Corporate Development for Siemens Corporation USA. In this role, he was responsible for cross-sector strategies, new business opportunities and portfolio management. Kruklinski led the creation of the Siemens Industry Sector, as well as the Company’s SmartGrid business unit and eCar initiative. He has been involved with MIS and organizational development, benchmarking and business process reengineering, business process consulting and market intelligence and competitor analysis.
Prior to joining the company, Kruklinski worked as a Senior Principal at A.T. Kearney Inc. in the firm’s financial institutions and high tech industry group. Further, he was Sr. VP and Director of Finance & Director of Business Process Innovations at First American Corporation.
Mr. Kruklinski is on the Board of Directors for the American Council on Germany, the NY/NJ/CT Regional Planning Association and the German American Chamber of Commerce. Michael holds his Abitur from Hoelty Gymnasium, Germany with a specialization in physics and mathematics.
Kruklinski is married and has two children. He resides in Central Florida.
